Kullander had humor. Good luck with the pronunciation:biggrin:
EDIT:
Sorry, double post. The title in this post is spelled incorrect. Figures,....
Hi there,
I'll just put the topic over here, don't know if it is the absolute right place for it.
Anyway, a few weeks ago I bought freshwater artemia.
Is there anyone who has some experience by any chance?
And does anyone know the scientific name of these creatures?
Thanks!
On the Dutch Dwarfcichlid forum there is an interesting discussion going.
Some say young Dwarfcichlids learn the broodcare from their parents.
Some say this is nonsense and broodcare is instinct, and thereby genetically determined. Fact is that fish who did not have broodcare can perform...
First I have another question. On page 73 we can see a A. sp. "Segelflossen" female. The strange thing about it is the round caudal fin. Is it Segelflossen or is it a wrong photo?
Now the pictures. I have an idea what they could be but it is always better to have a few more people look at it...
My Mouthbrooder have black spots on their body.
In CAII, Roemer speaks about a Calcium problem.
However, from a few other sources I keep hearing that it is a parasitic problem.
For example:
These two little fish came with a shipment of Aspidoras pauciradiatus.
A. cf. pertensis?
And this one?
Looks to me like A. regani with the eight bars including tail. However it is still very small.
The second photo suggests that it is not showing the bars all the time. It does however...
I am currently putting all my 'artistic talents' in this small thank.
Really enjoy looking at it.
And it doesn't even have Dwarfcichlids swimming in it:wink:
Well, I felt like using an A-number for a time:rolleyes:
I have a duo of wildcaught 'Maulbruter' swimming over here.
I cant speak of a couple because they do not seem to enjoy eachothers company that much.
I keep hearing all around me that there are a lot of problems in getting female...
I bought these fish a few months ago and they are my best fish-friends. They live on my desk in a 11g/45l tank.
They are so tame that I can put my hand in the tank and they swim between my fingers.
All this fun for 2,95 euro:rolleyes:
Hi there!
A while ago I bought some papagei but I'm not quite sure the male is one.
The female has a double caudal spot as we can expect with papagei.
The male does not show this spot as good as the female.
Today I took the liberty to tease the male so maybe it could show the spot I was...
Found some wildcaught Papagei two weeks ago.
They are doing just fine:biggrin:
Photo's aren't the best you have seen here. I promise there will be some better ones in the future. Just wanted to share
What species could this be?
I had this picture on my pc for a while and came across it.
It said A. eunotus. However I have my doubts

Bought them for a fellow aquarist in Germany so after tomorrow on the AKZ meeting he will be the proud owner of these fish.
Not much seen in the hobby, so it seems.
This photo was taken at the LFS
Hello,
today I fully trew myself in the Datz.
had it for some time but only used it for looking up pictures.
I came across some strange things with the A-numbers.
why do for example have the sp. 'schwarzkinn' different A numbers and the sp. 'Tefe' all the same numbers?
can anyone please...
excuse me for the bad pictures, you will propably not be able to identify them by the pictures but just give it a try.
a friend of mine bought them as panduro, which they obviously are not.
I was thinking norberti but that was just a wild throw.
however these pictures show two females and...
