i was wondering if there is anything i could look for specifically to try to sex these guys.the biggest ones are about 1 and a quarter inches.they look alike to me and i'm afraid they may all be female.the biggest one has lost most of the stripe down the midline and i am hoping it is male.i'm guessing i will have to wait till they get a little bigger.i'm sure mike or apisto dave or some of you guys could sex them but i'm lost.also do they grow exceptionally slow?i don't think i have had any fish that grew this slow since i stopped keeping tanganicans.

If the biggest fish is only 1½"/3.5cm TL, then it will be hard to sex them. Males will show more blue on the face, but this fish - other than size differences - is rather uniform in body shape, color, and finage until they become mature. I never thought of Rotpunkt being an especially slow grower, but not a fast growing species either. I found A. sp. Masken/Masked to be incredibly fast growing. Anyone else notice this?
