I've not had problems with mystery snails eating my a. pucallpaensis eggs; with my larger apisto i've found they can at time be a bit punishing to the snails - for smaller snails they actually do a pretty decent job ridding the tank.
I have never had problems with 'volunteer' snails (MBS, pond, and ramshorn) causing problems eating eggs. Then, I never kept 'exotic' snails in a breeding tank.
