Hi all
I added fish to my newly cycled tank on Tuesday. Which included a pair of a.borelli opal.
On Wednesday, I believe my female may have laid eggs. She had cleared out a lot of sand between a rock and driftwood and her and the male were in that area. She was doing a lot of belly up movements under the rock and was happy to have the male there with her. She is now a bright yellow color and gets black stripes down her eyes and in her fins and is constantly chasing the male away and then returning to her 'nest'.
My question is... now what?! I'm feaking out. I knew a pair might breed and hoped they might eventually... but did not expect it to be the day after I bought them and thought I would have a lot more time to research. Boy was I wrong. Rookie mistake, I guess.
Provided I am correct and she's laid eggs (I understand they might not be viable). But if they are should I, or can I, clean the tank?? How often for water changes? When should the fry be seperated from the female if at all. Eeek. So much to learn so little time.
I plan to spend most the day reading over as much info as I can. But I'll be greatful for any information or suggested reading you can provide.
Thanks!
