I hope you may be able to help I recieved a shipment of wild caught nannacara anomala however I am not sure about all of them please let me know what you think

The fish appears to be too deep-bodied to be N. sp. Mabaruma. N. anomala has many different color morphs/populations & can be confusing at times. Your fish are a bit unusual, but seem to conform to N. anomala in scale coloration (dark center/light borders) and lateral band, however. Seeing other photos would be helpful. Did these come from Guyana?

Hi Mike,

I think you are right that they do look like N. anomala the first pic shows a male that I would say was normal. But the last shows what i think is a very surprising colour morph to say the least or a different species.

I will try to get some pics of the males displaying if i can.
