Hello All,
I have recently start the husbandry of the Panduro specie and after the second spawning failure I start to think this couple is not a good match!
The first spawning I assumed that the male has not fertilized the eggs as he had spent most of his time hiding inside the cave or inside the dense vegetation that I have on this tank, although the eggs were easily visible after 3 days they were totally gone and the female left the cave.
The second attempt the male seems more into it! The female has guarded the eggs until the point that I could no longer see the eggs. The male has participated on guarding the cave and attacking any cardinal fish getting close to the cave. Although after 10 days I see no fry I can assume that this second attempt is lost.
Now the female has dug from inside the cave a massive tunnel to the point that she disappear into the substrate. I am confident that this is a husbandry behavior more than an abnormal one.
What are your thoughts!
Thanks in advance.
