Out of curiosity, what defines a fish being a "double orange flash"?
Tbh I don't know they were labeled that at a reputable lfs in my area but interesting question.
Not at all
It is just that identification of apistogramma is taken seriously and lfs use to label the fishes in very random ways causing more confusion than good.
"Double orange flash" has almost no meaning...
To be honest i would leave the definition to people more expert than me.
But i can say that you have quite a beautiful pair of apistogramma cacatuoides
Enjoy them

Ya im assuming they called it double orange flash due to having 2 fins showing orange coloration but then they would just be double orange and not (orange flash), like they label double reds. But honestly when it comes to orange flash they generally have there fins all orange.
I dont know when i hear orange flash i picture having all or at least the dorsal and tail fins orange. Id just call them Orange flashes mate.
Tank breed strains are more then welcome! Nothing wrong with keeping or breeding tank raised strains, thats normally what hooks people into Apistos then they venture out to the wilds and harder to get species. Great pair tho mate!!
