Hi. I have a 29 gallon for a pair of apistogramma d18 i wanna breed. They get up to 3.5 inch as far as i know. I love how killifish looks. Is it possible for me to keep any kinds of killifish in my aquarium where i want my apitos to breed and raise fry without being in danger? If then what kind and how many can i keep? Thank you

Besides Epiplatys annulatus you should stay clear of killifish with dwarf cichlids.
A classic pairing are Nannostomus sp. Alternatively if your tank is big and high enough Carnegiella sp. are a good choice. They are jumpers, in a tank with too curious dwarf cichlids this might go wrong.

You'll get varying answers on this, but it really depends on what your priorities are. Both clown killifish and pencil fish are social and benefit from being in larger groups of 6 - 8 or more. However, if breeding the apistos is your priority, I would personally go with fewer dither/target fish, like a trio. You'll definitely see some squabbling, so I'd recommend a lot of floating plants so that there is adequate cover.
