I need a positive ID on this apisto, I'm really not sure what it is. I've had it since it was REALLY small. I've got two pairs of it and I'm trying to breed them, knowing what they are would really help alot.

They were labelled as juruensis, but I later ID'd them as eunotus. I'm releatively sure that's what they are. However recently since the female has gone into hiding in a burrow the male has begun showing more vibrant colours with a light brown base. One male is darker with more blue's, although he's in a much darker tank. Here is the male in the stand alone breeding setup.

I can't say for sure. It doesn't show many of the diagnostic features needed to identify the species. It certainly is a regani-groups species, most likely a eunotus- or cruzi-complex fish.

Good clean water (pH<6.8 dH < 10º), freqent water changes, & good quality foods. The eunotus-like fish are one of the easy ones.

It's a 10 gallon breeder divided in half, male one side w/ 3 rasboras and the female on the other.

I also have a pair in a heavily planted 15 with ALOT of driftwood to hide in.

the picture of the female that you tought was gravid, looks rather tucked up in the abdomen to me and the forked like egg depositor statement worries me abot worm's

i would be inclined to jar the fish to cathch some feaces or just worm all the fish in the tank
are they wild caught fish?

No they wouldn't have worms, they're tank raised from taiwan breeder and I've had them for about 5 months already. The other female looks the same every few weeks.
