A. Viejita II d A. Viejita Red

I got a female sold as A Viejita Red for my A Viejita II which was previously identified as a macmasteri in another thread. The males in the A Viejita Red tank looked similar to my male.

My question is, do these names actually tell us anything? Am I committing some kind of hybridization sin by letting them mate? Do names like II and Red have some industry wide meaning or are they just brand names?

They are all Apistogramma macmasteri.

Just think of them like Dog breeds, you have a "Labrador" and a "Poodle", so your fry will be "Labradoodles" but they are still "Dogs".

These are just commercial names and often mean nothing. A breeder can call them anything they want.
