White patch?

My female A bitaeniata has grown a white/pink patch under her gill, it's been two weeks and she just laid eggs again. should I be worried? sorry for the poor picture quality, that the best I can whip from the $100 2 year old carmera

Also, do you guys think she is a little stunted (big eyes)? when I first got her, she refused to eat any prepared food, and has starved for several months, :frown: currently she only eats bloodworms and brine shrimp

The black around the eyes on displaying/brooding apistos can be decieving. It is used to make her look more intimidating (and the head look larger than the body, too). I don't worry about a stunted fish. Her offspring, given plenty of quality food, will grow into large, beautiful fish. Long months without much food seems to be the norm for young apistos in the wild.
