My bolivian rams spawned Tuesday night.....

I just added this pair to my 55gal on Friday. The male has been doing his little wiggly dance and I got to see them spawn Tuesday night - I just started keeping fish about 6mo ago and getting some help from my bro who keeps mostly african cichlids - the tank is planted and I've got four other male rams, 4 other angels and 6 coreys. The rams are guarding the eggs nicely and I was really happy to still have them there this morning LOL only a few have turned white :) The pics aren't the greatest but not terrible LOL Two of my angels at the bottom I just got on Friday also, the one with the striped tail is definitely a male from his behavior..........

and a couple of their tank-mates..........

Well, my eggs are all gone  They were there this morning when I left for work - my bro came over during the day and couldn't find them so I suggested that maybe the parents moved them, but I got home and the female and another male are flirting. That sucks! But I 'spose, I've only had them since Friday and this is the first time any of my fish have spawned - I added a bristlenose and did a water change so I think I'll call it quits for the night. I'm gonna get my 20gal set up this weekend and next spawn I'll move the parents and/or eggs to that tank - adventures in "fishing" LOL

bgbc,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Don't worry they'll probably spawn again soo. Sometimes it takes a few tries for them to get a grip on the process!

My Bolivians spawned last night as well but alas the eggs were gone by morning, even though the male was guarding them with some tenacity.

I have a 6 Pepper corys, 2 bristlenose plecos and 2 ottos. I'm assuming either the corys or plecos ate them. Do you recommend removing the rock with eggs and parents to a smaller breeding tank, i.e., 10G or so?
