I have Bolivian and german blue in a 90gal tank. They were both bought as immature... The gbr is half the size of the Bolivian... What is the expect growth rate of these dwarf
Yes that is typical for M. ramirezi to grow slower than M. altispinosa. Most cichlids take about 6 to 10 months to become sexually mature, and can keep growing (more slowly) after that, so the bigger fish species do grow faster.
Maybe it's just a runt? I had a female awhile back that never grew. I also have a male now that is less than a year old and hugee. The breeder grew him.out and than some in 6 months.
