My sub dominate female has been hiding from the Dom female, she has been real bad lately and I am a little worried. She is real dark color. The Dom female is turning yellow. The male has been displaying in front of the subs hiding spot. I don't know what to make of it.
This all has happened in the past couple of days. She hasn't eaten that I've seen in two or three days. The only tank I think I can move her to would be a 29 gal but it has a male betta in there also has a group of Corys and some neon tetras. Would she be OK it that set up? Is heavily planted. I don't want to put here in with my other apistos. I have a 55 with a juvenile pair of cacatuoides and agassizii and a pair of angels. My other option would be in my other 29 gal with Corys and guppies but I am afraid she would eat all my guppies. Most are small juveniles and fry.
I think she'll do OK with the Betta, Corys, neons - he might flare at her a couple times just because she's new, and then probably lose interest. Or put her with guppies - she might eat a few, but hey they're guppies. Anyway, she's probably doomed if left where she is now and too stressed to eat.
She ate some blood worms last night. I used a pair of tweezers to put them right in front of her hiding spot. She poked her head out and tore into them. I think I will set up another tank for her, going to have to be a clear storage bin for the mean time. I just can't risk her being sick and dumping her into another tank. The guppies are not just normal fish store guppies, they were expensive and I can't risk her eating them. Maybe when they are adult size but not now. She would mow through them.
