What is everyones thoughts on these are they pretty or is it more of a in the eye of beholder fish.
Debating about ordering a pair but concerned they will just look like wild cacatuoides.
I recently bred some kribs and F1 Pelvicachromis taeniatus - Moliwe
I was interested in other Pelvicachromis that do well and breed in hard water?
What should I try next next - I admit I am spawn and move on person but I do spread the fry around.
Yeah I know the Viejita are little more than the Borelli can handle in the long run. I will probably move the Borelli out to another 12 gallon tank I have - I need to figure out what to do with the two big boys (Viejita CF and Bitanetia) I have in that tank. Of i just need to get a fourth tank...
Yeah those Agassizii looked amazing as well - but I always find them to be a shy fish - and always hiding. Is that typical of Agassizii.
But these gold Viejita are beautiful - they look to be quite healthy - but I have them in a 12 gallon with a pair of Borrelli I picked up from them as well...
I took a quick visit to the Annual ACA and picked up a pair of Gold Viejita (Probably should of picked up two pairs). Anyone have any experience with these do they breed readily - does anyone carry them in case I want a second pair?
Jason
Ok I have pair of Yellow / White Caucatodies and a pair of Viejita's that share a 12 gallon nano cube with two oto's and pair of pencil fish.
The yellow cac's breed quite easily but the babies seem to disapear right after the wiggler stage just when they start to swim around.
She lays...
My YG Cauctodies Ate her fry as well
My YG Caucotodies laid and hatched like 50+ fry and everything seemed fine, however just as they ended the wiggler stage she started eating them.
I wonder if it was my fault for using a flashlight to look at them all the time, she did seem to get upset...
I have a 12 gallon Nano Cube with a pair of Viejita's and a pair of Yellow Caucotodies. I went on a long vacation (4 weeks) during the vacation the pair of Neons I had in there as a diether fish passed away. I had an auto feeder and had someone come by to add RO water. Well needless to say every...
Ok so this something good know
I figure it could help the beginners (like me) doing a large water change and introducing a new food a few days before a full moon / new moon may have extra benefits.
Just as an FYI my Yellow Cac's eggs have hatched to quite a few a wigglers with mom & dad...
My question is twice I have been able to get Apistos to spawn, once with Borelli (the eggs never hatched) and just a few days ago with White/Gold/Yellow Cacatuoides. I noticed on both times the spawning occurred when there was full moon.
Now being a pretty avid Scuba Diver - I know that many...
Must be doing something, Borelli may have eggs
Well,
I might be doing something right I think one of my female borelli has laid eggs on the underside of a cave like piece of drift wood. I was not positive had to run to work but it looked like there were little eggs above one that was...
Current PH / GH & KH
Hi all thanks for the replies my current GH is about 8 and KH is about 4.
I have been adding Electro-Right to my RO before adding it to tanks.
Hi all,
I am pretty new to apistos (Have had aquariums off an on for 15 years) - I have three new tanks going (all 12 gallon nano cubes) right now. I have some borelli, one pair of white cacs and one pair viejita's in them.
Here are my questions I started the tanks with chicago tap water...
