Off the side, if it makes you feel better my domicile is full of tanks, and then I discovered the little guys with tude. Long story short, most of the Malawi's were traded in, down to 3 tanks of them, which of course made room for 2 pairs of apistogramma, and very soon new additions...
Then they should be quite happy in the tanks where they are, low lighting unless the dining room light is on. These little guys are so fun to watch, haven't put any "dither" fish in with them as of yet, they are just out and about quite alot checking things out.

That is the correct names, I read about the different varieties for a while, and looking at pictures and them, that is definitely what they are. I will post some pics of the new kids as soon as they get more relaxed to life in the zoo. They seem quite happy, came right out for the breakfast...
Reading more about the apistogrammas in general, a couple of articles stated they prefer dim lighting as to lots of light? So if this is the case, they should be alright with indirect natural lighting?

Thank you for the input. Reading this and other forum discussions, traded several of my larger Lake Malawi's in, low and behold with some work found 2 young pairs of Apistogramma Nisani and Agazzi.:biggrin:

I have a pair of hemiochramis lifalli, and they aren't as big as the hemiochromis bimaculatus which have 4 of them also, the only problem I have had with the lifalli is when they spawned the 3rd one was promptly murdered, other than that pair is primarily peaceful, beautiful fish. The pair lives...
