I have just lost my male Double Red Agassizi this morning. He was a little shy yesterday, but feeding, and then this morning he was breathing heavily and then dead within an hour! The only symptom is a slight swelling around the anus. Is this a sign of some kind of gut compaction? Or is it just another one of these male Apistos that simply doesn't last long? For the record it is a Czech bred fish and was healthy and stunning before today, if a little thin.
