It's going to be tough to keep the fish off each other when they start to claim territories and want to breed. Even a proven pair can get nasty to each other-especially a female with eggs or fry. There is a chance of making it work but you will need a ton of decor/shelter in the tank and some dithers/target fish would also go a long way in making it work.
