You guys probably get this a lot but would it be possible to keep to breeding pairs of seperate apisto species in the same tank?. Tank size would be 20 gal
In a word, no. The tank is entirely too small unless it is so choked with plants, wood, etc. that it is impossible for the fish to see each other. Depending on the species, it might be possible in a suitably decorated 30 gallon long.
i dont even know if i would trust my apistos with another pair in a 65g... my aggassizi's are temperamental, the pair works in teams. the male goes after the angels/plecos and the female is always after the swordtails/tetras. kinda funny to watch.
