Looking at the photo, that fish looks like one of the Chromidotilapia guntheri types...either C. guntheri or C. cavalliensis. It's young yet, so a positive ID is difficult. Do you know where it's from? C. cavalliensis has a very limited range, while that of C. guntheri is quite extensive.
I got this fish with a tank I bought. The guy who sold it, told me he couldn't remember the name, but said "it's a mouthbreeding pulcher of some sort." Obviously it's not even the same genus.
How fast can I expect it to grow?
