My aggie D red female has severely damaged caudal fin HELP!

after couple of spawning, my aggie D red female has damaged caudal fin.
she is eating/acting fine.. Actually, she is attacking a male.. water is ok. PH 6.6 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10.

does this happen because she is stressed over losing eggs?? will the fin grow back?

as you can see from the picture it does not look good at all.. I'm sure male isn't the problem as he is hiding after she laid eggs..

That's not severe, most of the fin is still there

If the water in the tank is clean the fin should grow back without problems. Just watch out for bacterial infections and/or fungus, which can sometimes happen under poor water conditions, then you may have to isolate and treat her. Otherwise she should recover just fine

Looks like your male is very aggressive when courting and wants to breed when the female does not. If the tank is large enough, you might want to consider adding an additional female or 2. If you do, you will need to rearrange the decor and provide extra territories.

thanks everyone! it is a 20G long tank. I do have 2 aggies females in my community tank but they are not D red.
