My vote is for the more colorful forms of A. sp. Papagei/Parrot. This is strange because most regani-group species are not especially colorful.

I say one of the most beautiful dwarfs around has to be D. Maculatus. As for apistogrammas, A. viejita II!

hello everybody, I'm a newcomer here.
good to see some known faces... er... nicks/names
how about the butterfly cichlid, M. ramirezi?
as for real apistos - I would vote for sp. "Breitbinden" and eremnopyge, although I only saw then on photos.

I really like the eremnopyge (A. sp. Fresa) too. But I am always looking at the newer stuff with a little more open eye, so I would have to say sp. Miua, the New Pulchra, wilhelmi, etc. But I must say that I have to agree with Mike. When Julio Melgar first sent me Koslowski's picture of sp. Papagei, I couldn't believe it. It was fantastic looking. Never had one quite that nice, but it was definitely one of the most colorful apistos I had seen, even for a regani group fish

Like some of the other posters, I'm partial to Apistogramma sp. "Papagei," A. bitaeniata, A. eremnopyge, A. sp. "Miua" and A. elizabethae for sure.
The most beautiful dwarf cichlids, however, are in western Africa. Okay, so maybe I'm partial, but by all means, please do check them out.
