as for real apistos - I would vote for sp. "Breitbinden" and eremnopyge, although I only saw then on photos.
I really like the eremnopyge (A. sp. Fresa) too. But I am always looking at the newer stuff with a little more open eye, so I would have to say sp. Miua, the New Pulchra, wilhelmi, etc. But I must say that I have to agree with Mike. When Julio Melgar first sent me Koslowski's picture of sp. Papagei, I couldn't believe it. It was fantastic looking. Never had one quite that nice, but it was definitely one of the most colorful apistos I had seen, even for a regani group fish
