Sexing Laetacara dorsigerus

Dear Bissot,

When they are subadult, sexing L. dorsigerus can be quite difficult. Mature fish are easier, I think.

Males grow to be slightly larger than females, have more pointed dorsal and anal fins and tend to have a more pronounced forehead. Females tend to have more rounded dorsal and anal fins and generally have a more elongate head profile.

If this doesn't work for you, the fish that lays the eggs is the female! :lol:
