good evening,
I have some beautiful Laetacara curviceps in my aquarium, but...they really are curviceps?
I suspect they are L. dorsigera...or not?

But i dont' see nothing red, like dorsigera!

Your opinion?

Thanks and...scuse my english!

They do not appear to be L. curviceps. The caudal pattern is wrong for this species. To me it appears to be one of the larger Laetacara species. How large are the fish and how old do you think that they are? BTW not all L. dorsigera show a red breast. One population is mostly black in brood care.

maybe 7-8 cm. In my opinion they aren't so young.

They are in my tank from 4 days, the vertical stripes are stress bar?

In previous tank they did not have these stripes, they was so clear!

how about thayeri? or flavilabris?
the vertical barred pattern might be showing because of your tank's dark gravel and surroundings -- I dont think it's stress.
Did the previous tank where they looked "clear" have a lighter colored bottom and less shelter (wood, plants, rocks) ?

looking at the fish in pic 4 the dorsal fin is starting to thread out like adult Thayeri do and the pattern on the body is right too.
