Hello All,
I am new to the site but not the hobby. I have been keeping freshwater tropical fish for almost 40 years. I have run the gauntlet of fish over the years but after all my fish were killed by the October storm of last year when my house got to 40 degrees (inside) for 6 days I decided to reset and start over with some new species. I am now running three tanks (a 29, a 20h and a 7gal). I have a mixture of colorful tetras, corys and white clouds for my wife along with a pair of Apistos in the 29. In the 20h I have two GBR females along with some pygmy cats and pygmy gouramis. I am having trouble finding a suitable male to accompany them. I have shrimp and a betta in the 7 and they are having a blast.
I am interested in breeding dwarf cichlids and I am working to setting up a couple of 20l breeding tanks. My wife is not convinced yet so I am moving slow. I almost have her convinced to allow me to get a 75 for the living room as a "conversation piece"
My water here is crap both from the well and the domestic water so I have a RO/DI and the fish are loving it.
I am a sponge for knowledge and tips so I have been reading the threads.
Thanks for keeping a great site and place to bounce ideas off each other.
