have had 2 completely different experiences with harem breeders lately. A trifasciata male is a most doting parent supporting the female in a pair only situation whereas a bitaeniata was hanging around the entrance to the cave harassing the female and preventing the fry from emerging so that he had to be removed. They were also in a pair situation. My point is that this fish are so individual and do not necessarily behave in ways you expect them to based on literature. Also just liked the title of this thread.
