Dropping like flies?!!!

I have a spawn of about 50+ P. sacrimointes. They're growing fast,
almost 1/2" now. However, in the last few days, I've noticed 2-3
dead every morning. What going on?! They seem to be eating normally.
I'm still doing 30% water changes every other day. The pH is stable.
They're getting newly hatched BBS twice a day.

Something bacterial? What can I do to diagnose the cause and prevent
more losses?

At 1/2" I would start to give them some other foods. Crushed flake, especially one with some vegetable content, might provide some vitamins that they are not getting from a straight brine diet.

When I was breeding sacrimontis I noticed about a 20% loss between 1/4" and 1/2", regardless of the feeding regimen or size of spawn. It might be natural mortality.
