The tank's setting looks so natural, well-done!!
yes yes... congrats and best of luck with them! john
Their sensitivity is way overblown, if you ask me. So long as they're not too far gone when you get them and you keep water quality up, they're no different from any other cichlid.
Wow beautiful fish! Love them!
Are they B. opercularis or B. dicentrarchus? I think those first, but I'm not sure:biggrin:

Great looking fish, best of luck with them!!!
What kind of leaves do you have in there, and can you let me know the benefits of them. I'm pretty new to dwarf cichlids, so any advise you can give would be great. Thanks in advance.
It has 3 anal spines, indicating it is an A. opercularis form. Body profile seems to be that of A. opercularis, instead of A. cf. opercularis. Do you know where they came from?
Hmmm... as far as I know, they both come from the same area.believe they are from rio negro .
Good to know, Mike. Thanks.B. dicentrarchus is found only in the Orinoco. The upper Rio Negro has B. cf. opercularis. B. opercularis is found in the lower Rio Negro & many localities in the middle Amazon Basin. B. dicentrarchus is almost never imported as a species except by hobbyist collectors. BTW the photo of "B. dicentrarchus" in Römer's Atlas is actually A. cf. opercularis.
