Hi,

I visited a store yesterday and took some photos of Apistos that is from a wild catch in Colombia. The photos are not the best but maybe they are enough to give a hint of what those Apistos are. They are sold as Hongsloi and some really looks like that but I'm not the expert. I would be happy to get one or maybe a couple of IDs.

Cheers,
Janne

You are right, the ones that look different are a macmasteri-subcomplex species. It can be A. macmasteri (Rotrücken/Red Shoulder) but without knowing the exact catch location it's not possible to be 100% sure because in recent years this subcomplex has become a minefield ID-wise.

Is it the ones with the red stripes on the tail fin you connect to the Macmasteri subcomplex? Or is it also those with the more clear yellow tail fin? There are those that more or less have an uncoloured tail fin.
Unfortunately it seems like there are only males in this batch.

What characteristica do you ID them on?
And the rest could be Hongsloi, really yellow ones?
