Hi,
I am in the process of altering my Apisto breeding set up and i am wondering if it is better not to use any substrate in the grow on tanks or to carry on using fine play sand.
Do the hobbyist/breeders out there generally use substrate or bare bottomed grow out tanks?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thankyou,
Mark.

I use a very thin layer of sand in growout tank to give the fry a sense security and for my enjoyment. I don't feel it is too much harder to keep clean than a barebottom tank.
