I want them swimming in water! BTW the A. agassizii from Leticia (yellow breast, red tail) have fry, as do the A. sp. Papagei A91 from the Ampiyacu.

This is interesting......

The female's lateral band is reduced to only two spots when in breeding dress, just like A. sp. "Papagei"-females......

It does look like a female A. sp. Papagei in breeding dress. I wouldn't believe it is A. sp. Pebas (Morado) if I had not been there when collected! Another very disturbing thought: could collectors be moving fish to more easily collectable areas? It has been done before. The male has spots on the caudal. This is not seen on Papagei.

Today she showed me her other flank........and there she showed 4 spots! (She is still showing only two spots on her left flank)
I think I will have to ask her to decide what to be.......

The tank is heavily planted and there are lots of wood, and this evening I noticed that there are two more females with fry in the same tank! The alpha-male is visiting them one by one, to check if everything is OK.

I wasn't expecting all that fry now; I think I'll better move these ones to another tank.....a little too late, maybe...

The reason I'm pulling back this topic is because, thanks to Tom and Mark, I have the oportunity to experience the presence of this species in my fishroom. I'm quite amazed with them. I got some juves F1 from Mark, I guess they are descendents of the fishes Tom showed in this topic.

One week after arriving, some females started to lay eggs

although without any success... her mate at the time:

About a month later and with no more than 2,5 cm in lengh, here they are showin much more:

And the male:

... just look at those colours with no more than 2,5 cm!
