Hi,
I've been wondering if anybody knows where I can get hold of Apistos direct from Brazil?

I've heard of this exporter called Aquamazon but have never been successful in finding any contacts.

Anybody here in contact with any specialised wild Brazil Apisto exporters?

Southern Apistos is getting a shipment on the 20th of this month. Try them at http://www.southernapistos.com/ Mike Jacobs should be able to help you find a few wild caught apistos. I know they have the mouthbrooding apisto, A. baenschi, A. panduro and a few other coming in.

Mervin, Gan's lobang still there but as you know, its a lucky dip.. haha

Fishboy, yes, I've heard of SouthernApistos.
However, I noticed there seems to specialise in Peruvian Apistos.
Was attempting to find the Brazilian Apistos like those from Rio Negro.

George, unfortunately, no website..
Seems like the Brazilian exporters' information are quite limited on the web.

Alright my second stab at this is to recommend contacting Tony Orso. He has A. gibbceps, gephyra and elizabethae listed on his webpage. Whether or not they are still available or if he can get them is another question. And they are not listed as being wild caught but I did see he imports from Brazil. Perhaps he can tell you what else he can get ahold of.

Also Oliver Lucanus has many Apistos available. The biggest thing with both places is that they are a wholesaler, not a retailer. You may have to go through another store or get the required permits to bring in fish from either person.

Here are their webpages:
