So this isn't really on the D39 but i will make a comment at the end:
My a. ladisalo bred - not the original ones i picture above but a new pair i picked up from wetspot a few weeks ago (month?); in the 15. The original pair i moved out since i think the female is too old. They are definitely a pair and i tried putting a younger female in with them but the both the male and old female immediately gained up on her so i removed her. They are in a 55 now with another species and seem to be fine - the weird thing about this spawn was the female chose a spot on the substrate in the open ignoring all the more hidden areas. I only noticed because a piece of algae floating turned out to be a fry. The only thing in the 15 with them are 5 n. margrita and 4 tucano. Time to hatch more bbs. I've been feeding the Dicrossus filamentosus bbs (they are between 1/4 and 3/4 an inch so i have them a 10 till they get larger with some a. pucallpaensis that are sub-adult as well as a few other things. Long term the pucallpaensis will end up in the 10 and the d. filamentosus somewhere else tbd but probably a 29 or 55.

The a. ladisalo breeding kind of shocked me or took me by surprise - since i moved them they have been very reclusive avoiding me yet she chose to spawn out in the open like a substrate spawner.

For the D39 i saw something weird late last week - one of the females look bright yellow and the larger male followed her to the back so i assume she spawn - but 3 days later she returned to the front but i havent' seen the male since - could he be guarding the eggs/frys ? Not sure males do that but maybe d39 is different?

The problem is the back is pretty well hidden with hardscape and to find him i would have to tear things up quite a bit which i prefer to not do. Eventually sometime during the winter i will a male and female to the 15 if they don't spawn before then - as they keep getting more lovely. The yellow has turned to darker orange though i guess at this point they are putting on a bit of age. Hum... Weird i wish they could talk and tell me what is going on.
Kind of don't understand why it is harder to spawn fishes in a 65 (48x16x18) then a 15 but i suspect that is the case. THe d39 aquarium is one of the least populated aquarium i have - just having some pencil fishes and a few ottos.
