Aggie Eggs

After a week and a half of doing the dance, my pair of aggies have spawned. I worked the pH down to 6.8, KH to 2 and GH to 3 using peat filtered in a bucket as the water change medium.

Questions:

How long for aggiee eggs to hatch to wriggler stage?

I plan on leaving male, female, and eggs in the tank for this batch. Correct move? Tank is 10 gallon with only them in it.

The eggs look clearish and not orange on the roof of the clay saucer cave. Is this normal? They don't look orange, but don't look opaque white either.

Should I stop the water changes now until the eggs hatch.

Mike C,

Congratulations! :D

2-3 days for eggs to hatch and 4 or 5 more for fry to swim free.

I think it is fine! Keep an eye out for aggression between the parents (not just a little threat display or 2).

I can't remember if I have had aggie eggs that were like that, but alot depends on the diet of the parents. I wouldn't worry, they are probably fine.

I would. Probably won't cause a problem, but not doing a water change for another few days probably won't either. Do it just after they are free swimming. And be ginger when you do.
