Thank you very much, Mike, for detailed explanation. It is great to have an opportunity to get a competent answer on this forum. Do you know if there are any other inaccuracies in Uwe's atlas?
Thank you, Olga
While reading again books Cihlid Atlas by U. Römer and Die Buntbarsche Amerikas by I. Koslowski I noticed a strange thing. On page 255 in Römer's book there is a photo of "A. agassizii male, wild-caught specimen from the vicinity of Santarem". In Koslowski's book on page 293 there is exact...

you'll find their the pictures of my female, that comes from the same batch of A. "vijeita II" (A. macmasteri in reality) as yours. Your fish has all the same black...
My A. sp. "Pebas" six weeks later. Colours changed to more yellowish-orange-red since I feed him with BBS together with his fry. He is very agressive and fights a lot with his tankmates A. panduro, that's why he lost some of his long beautiful finnage.
Thank you, Mike, for this detailed explanation. I have read those articles in BB, that's a big confusion with names. The interesting thing is that in this book they have different pictures for A. sp. "Nanay", A. sp. "Rio Nanay" and A. sp. "Papagei". The last goes as synonym to A. sp. "Algodon...
Just got one, beautiful pictures! In this book on page 20 I finally found a picture of the fish very similar to that was discussed in here http://forum.apistogramma.com/showthread.php?t=2820 . It's called there A. sp. "Nanay", synonym A. sp. "Baby face yellow tail". And there are more fish...

Mikael, did you buy your fish from Akvarielagret? I have bought a pair from them as A. viejita II. This pair was identified as A. macmasteri in this forum. You can read the thread http://forum.apistogramma.com/showthread.php?t=2824 about this identification.
Thank you for anwering, Mike.
Is it possible to get your species list? Then I can take it as a reference point so that I would not introduce mistakes from the very beginning.
Is it this apistogramma http://www.thekrib.com/Apisto/A-sunset.html ? Or do you mean some other new species?
Where could...
There are so many species lists around in the internet and in apisto books. Where can I find the most updated list of Apistogramma genus? Now we are trying to create an internet site about south american cichlids in Russian, since not everybody in Russia can read English. I was asked to help...
Mike, thank you very much for your help in identifying this species. It is very interesting with all new forms appearing now.
I hope to breed my A. sp. "Pebas", they spawned 2 days ago. This is the female with her eggs.
Mike, thanks a lot for those detailed descriptions. Hope, that this is a right picture for ID
Thank you for the invitation. I'm not sure if I could come, but it is really worth it to make all my best to come there.
