A.Cac w/ CRS and Amano Shrimp

Any kind of shrimp no matter how much cover, will be hunted down by any cichlids and eaten, regardless of their size. you will basically be wasting your money adding apistos and shrimp to the same tank.

Man I wish we had a shop like that here! I'd never leave!

    Agassizi Fire Red

I moved them into my nijsseni's old breeding tank, with the ph at 5.5. I know it's a little low for aggies so I added some eco-complete to help raise the kh and ph. I added the eco-complete in a couple long/shallow tupperware containers in case like you mentioned they need a lower ph and I can...

    Agassizi Fire Red

Guys, I recently picked up a pair of these and I'm concerned about the total lack of information on them out there. What if any, can anyone tell me about them? What type localities did the strain come from, and what parameters should I be aiming for? Are these just as undemanding as most of...

    A. sp. 'Papagei'

Hands down my favorite apisto, and my wild caught pair's young have produced their first batch of young this week! Here's my original male:

Can some one tell about shipping from US to Canda

apparently they aren't much better in the US either though, my fiance is a supervisor for sales reps at amazon.com and they use DHL for alot of packages. They treat packages like crap and constantly lose them. If a town doesn't have a dhl branch they just drop the package at the post office and...

Can some one tell about shipping from US to Canda

Maybe if you have an export license, but not without one. If you've gotten away with this then you are just lucky. I have family working in customs and live fish without a permit NEVER make it through. Canadian agriculture is very strict, nothing comes into the country without permits, unless...

Can some one tell about shipping from US to Canda

The counter person is not the person who passes the packages through customs, the customs person will take one look and turn it back.

Can some one tell about shipping from US to Canda

No they DO NOT accept live ornamental fish, PERIOD. They don't accept live animals at all, labelling them was the worst thing you could have done. Whoever said they accept live fish was wrong, in this case. DEAD WRONG. Maybe on the US side, but canadian UPS or any of the courier companies do...

Can some one tell about shipping from US to Canda

FYI DHL is about the worst courier service you could possibly use in canada, as is UPS. You're better off shipping US priority post so that either purolator or canada post picks up on it. DHL loses packages like there's no tomorrow.

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Definately not, a 20g will be just perfect for one pair, no more. IME a 33 is far too small for 4 cichlids, even though they are dwarfs. Despite their size they're just as territorial as their larger cousins. The aggression will be spread out with 4 of them, but eventually something is going to...

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Hey! Good to see you on here! It will still be a problem being in with the rams unfourtunately though, either use the tank for the A. eremnopyge or for the rams, because having them in the same tank will probably amount to nothing. The rams most likely won't do well long term with the low ph...

    Pull the male??

If you have no dither fish I would definately pull the male, she'll focus all of her aggression on only him.

Can you teach an apisto to eat snails?

Dwarf puffers, despite their size are one of the more aggressive FW species, I don't recommend moving them around your fishroom as you suggest. They will nip the fins of and even may kill apistos, I had two dwarf puffers kill an 8 inch pacu early in my fish keeping ventures.

    A.nijsseni

They're more than likely sub dominant males, they have no signs of being a female at all. They're still young so they will still have the dark spot in front of the tail.

    A.nijsseni

I disagree, those are all males. The abdominal spot is not big enough for a female, and it's blue. The spot on a female is black and much larger. The black on the face is larger on the female as well.

    will oak leafs help?

For the leaves to work properly you need to start off with soft water, like RO water, so that you can drop the ph. IME Oak/Almond leaves in harder alkaline water require alot more leaves to drop the ph. In fact they probably won't do much with that ph. I used almond leaves (which are...

    Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Moliwe"

Mine constantly spawn at a ph of 6.8 gh of 3 and a kh of 2. I hope you have alot of tank space for the fry because these guys are worse than rabbits!
  19. C

    Pelvicachromis taeniatus with killifish

As long as you give the killies adequate cover on the top of the tank, like some water lettuce or salvinia they should be fine. I keep a pair of A. Striatum with my Moliwe pair in a 15g and they've even produced 4 young!

    Levamisole.

You CAN treat the worms like this, however you're still not adressing the problem because there are still worm larvae in the water column. The fish can then just injest the larvae through eating them or respiration and the cycle will continue again. You have to use levamisole to kill not only...
