Definitely one of my favorite apistos... My bitaeniata... the girl laid eggs two days ago and my other pair has fry. I need to get pictures of them.
I wish the webhost was better so you could see how tall his "Hair" stands! It's near double his body height.
Is it true?... I just got done checking out the GCCA website and went to the ACA site and saw the list of speakers... and to my astonishment I saw that one...
DR. UWE ROMER, himself will be a speaker!!!
I had to check twice to make sure... but he is scheduled to come!!! And here in...
Here are some pictures of my apistogramma Bigfoot after growing up since I got them from David Soares. He says they are undescribed and Dr. Uwe Romer said it's closely related to A. sp Nanay. Anywho, Here they are. Great and well mannered also.

Hello Dave,
Don't know how to get a hold of you, so I guess this is the only way for now.. besides, it's of importance to everyone here too.
I saw that you have had A. sp. Big Foot for sale on aquabid. I have been trying to get a hold of information on it and no success. so, What is A...
Hello everyone, I picked up these wild fish from a swap meet this morning and have been stuck trying to ID them since. They were labeled as A.sp Apache. I can't really get a great picture of the one I believe is the male because he's a little too shy and I couldn't lure him to get a good enough...
Ok, I need as much information as possible on Apistogramma sp. bigfoot. I have never heard of it before now and can not find any info on it at all. What's the scientific name? (and why "big foot") What complex? where is it from? what kind of biotope?( Black water/white water, river, etc.)...
Ok, I have just acquired a reverse trio of Crenicichla regani (2males.1female) from a friend recently. I have introduced them into a very spacious tank with fine sand substrate and heavily planted and they haven't really been overly aggressive towards each other. They have been quite good and...
Ok, I've seen this in many of my tanks and it puzzles me a little... I have had trifasciatas in a community-like tank where there are only trifasciatas with 6 females and 5 males and I constantly see that when there are fry in the tank that aren't their own because they hadn't bred with any of...
Hello all,
I was just wondering what everyone's setups were, tanks & equipment wise. I am quickly running out of space and running short on $$ as my habit, yes I said apisto habit, is expanding. From one solitary community tank for cacatuoides, it grew to now about 16 tanks, in one years...
Uwe Romer has written that ph and water temperature is a main factor in some Apistos brood sex ratio and I was just wondering if from experiences, has anyone seen this in their own tanks etc? I am just wondering because I didn't see and species specifics info in Romers' book. I know he...
Yes, as I was strolling through my LFS I saw something that excited me and made me feel like a small child in a candy store! It was a tank with 3 Pseudocrenilabrus nicholsi, one male and two females. Upon further examination and about 15 minutes observing them I the only male and one of the...

ok, the thing is that I have always heard of subdominant males showing female coloration, behavior, and so on in the presence of the dominant male but have never witnessed it before... until now!
situation goes:
I purchased some triple red cacatuoides (3males/2females) from a friend about...
ok.. the thing is, that the A.breitbinden/ broadband are in a 90 gallon community with my TR Cacatuoides trio & along with some juvenile bitaniatas... well, after I noticed that one of the cackatoo females (wild) had fry with the large dominant TR male, I threw a large clear plastic...
