I have seen a lot of aggies Wild and Tank Raised but i have never seen a wild with that deep color like th pic or the extended color. I have seen Double Reds that look like that always though.
The fish u describe seems to look like triple of double red cacutoides. As some of the variants have yellow then red. It would help to post pics of the fish.

I agree with ted. they run anywhere from 2.99 to 8.99 at LFS also if there are no spots on the tail then they are definately pulchers as u might get nigerian reds for the same price at some stores.
