Thanks. I only found today she took over the fries. My initial thought was the 1st female or the male ate the fries, but the 2nd female fries keep increasing every day. Finally did a count earlier and found that the number tally.

The 2nd female took over all the fries. Even from the 1st female.its really weird. My guess is they are confused. The 1st female is acting like she is a single now. Keep swimming and looking for the male too bad the male is in another tank.

    40 gallon project planning

I would recommend pencil fish marilynae. They are much smaller and swin really fast. Best part, since they are small they wouldn't bother your apisto. Would advise to keep in a school of 8 to 10 pcs.

Used to have a pair of electric blue dempsey. Never get to know their gender should be both either males or females. The LFS focus mainly on cory and apistogramma only. Store owner is a nice young chap and taught me a few tips. Breeding is not a choice now. I just planted more plants...

Definitely will separate the male and females after the first batch. Thanks for the heads-up. My childhood was with my dad rearing arowanas in the 80's and 90's. That is how I caught the fish bug from. We used to have drains and swamp where after school we will stay back after school to catch...

Have some questions, 1. Should I stop water change for the next few days? 2. Ordered some plants on tuesday and will arrive tomorrow. Should I continue to plant them? The plants are attached below. My intention is to provide more cover and reduce straight line of sight. Thank you!

    Help with selection

I have a spare 17 gallon in my store room. I'll probably start cycling it with aged tank water tomorrow morning. If 17 gallon is too small, buying a 3ft tank could be an option too.
