I started feeding NorthFin Bug Pro and my apistos are big fans. I've also got their Krill Pro and Community, both of which the apistos will tolerate. Bug Pro is their preference however.
A few weeks ago I purchased three parotocinclus haroldoi to add to one of my apisto tanks. I've had them in quarantine and so far they're looking good.
My question is, since they're wild caught, should I treat them with any medication before introducing to their permanent home?

As far as live foods, are BBS still a good food source for adult apistos? I'm trying to figure out which live food I should culture.
I ended up with 20-25% remaining after six weeks. It's not the cheapest way to feed your fish, but given the shelf life is relatively long before being opened, is nice to keep on hand in case travel or other obstacles prevent maintaining a hatchery.
My guess is you've been seeing diatom algae as that's especially common in the first month or two. The nice thing is diatoms can only survive about seven days before dying off, so if you just keep suctioning it off during water changes, it will disappear on its own as the tank stabilizes. With...
