I have been offered a pair of A. atahualpa to buy. I havent actually seen them yet (they are a long way away) and only have one picture of the male - but to me I dont think its atahualpa - not sure what it is tho?

I have some panduro fry, that are now 5 weeks old and are still really really tiny! They were freee swimming on 28th March
In comparison I reckon my 5 week old baenschi fry would be twice the size.
Is this normal, I wasnt under the impression that they were a particularly slow...

I have a largish tank 100cm x 48cm x 52 (high) cm that currently holds a trio of A. baenschi and some assorted dither fish. There are lots of crypts but not a lot of high plants, and a large chunk of wood.
I was wondering if I would be able to put some dicrossus in this tank...

I have a trio of A. baenschi in a 3+ foot tank. The dominant female has much more black on her 'chest?' and underside than the subdominant female. Just wondering if this is coincidence or an aspect of being dominant ?
Co-incidentally both spawned last weekend after a water change...

Im trying to find out if I can use Plane Tree leaves safely in a tank? Species name is Platanus x hybrida. Its quite a common tree near me and drops lots of nice large brown leaves in Autumn.
I know most people suggest Oak or Beech but they arent that common in Sydney :)

My A. baenschi spawned for the first time, probably around friday evening and the female is still diligently guarding her pot as of this morning(monday). Can anyone tell me how long the eggs usually take to hatch and how long til the fry are free swimming?
