Coral Reef tank for a planted dwarf cichlid and othes display aquarium.

That’s true. But all the other species I’ve kept have been a success.despite my water conditions. . Aged peat water, immaculate water, and plenty of partial water changes satisfies all the species I mentioned earlier but not apistos. No more apistos for me.

Coral Reef tank for a planted dwarf cichlid and othes display aquarium.

I will take a look at the tanks. I will add caves around the perimeter. And make several small rock small rock piles scattered around the tank. I don’t think I’ll do apistos. They don’t like me and my water so much. I like Ivanacara, dwarf acara, Nannacara and dwarf crenicichla much better...

Coral Reef tank for a planted dwarf cichlid and othes display aquarium.

I’ve admired the large 4 foot wide by 8 foot long by 15 inch tall aquariums set up as reef tanks in salt water aquarium stores. I think they would make a nice dwarf cichlid (not necessarily apistos perhaps Ivanacara, dwarf pikes, dwarf acaras, and perhaps a couple of discus etc.), plants...

Is a 4ft x 4ft aquarium large enough to support colony of both pucallpaensis and borelli ?

If uou had a 4 foot wide and 4 foot long you’d be able to many more combos. The height of the tank does not matter to most dwarf cichlids. So with that being said, in your current tank I would do the following: Stay away from rams except the Bolivian ones. Obtain only one type of apistos or...

    Two Story Tank Idea

Cichlids usually only like the bottom of the tank to form their territories. And thst limits the number of cichlids a tank could support because of aggression. I have an idea and want to see if anyone has tried it. I have a 54 corner bow front aquarium. Its sides and gravel are black. I...

Help me choose an RO filter

I don’t believe the physical connections but all of jargon that seems to come along with it. Good to know about the water softener. I will have to connect the RO unit before the water softener. Thanks for everyone’s help so far.

Help me choose an RO filter

Anyone else have an opinion or recommendations? I think the above post has good points. But maybe someone has used this one Simpure? I’m not planning on drinking it, really.

    Help with Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis illness

The dwarf acaras might be a better choice than apistos. I think they will out eat the tetras and rasboras. They are beautiful in their own right. Maybe keyhole. I’ve had good results with a similar tank you’re describing with a couple of angels and Ivanacara idoketa or zebra acaras. Eventually...

Feedback requested on 400 gallon tank stocking

My festivums, clown loaches and Denison barbs have been sharing the same tank for over 5 years. There has never been an issue. I keep my tanks between 75 and 80. I rarely check them. I can tell by the feel that the water temperature is good. Maybe the Denison’s by wagging their tails as they...

Feedback requested on 400 gallon tank stocking

Dwarf cichlids are timid little fellows who are extremely nervous around other larger fish. Why? Because in the wild they make a nice snack for lager fish. As a result they will get stressed out and probably slowly pass away from stress. They are fussy about their water, temperature, ph...

Feedback requested on 400 gallon tank stocking

Denison barbs are compatible temperature wise with festivums and clown loaches. I have red severum, festivums, geo Sveni and suranamensis, pictus cats, black angels, clown loaches, a beautiful pleco, and a ruby shark and probably a couple of others all in my 180 gallon tank. They all do...
