Hi will parents be more inclined to eat there own babys if i have been feeding them live babys from another species? (like feeding baby guppys to adults Laetacara)
i am just trying to talk in general (lets say feeding baby jewels or baby angels to other spices like adults apistos or severum)Laetacara generally are good parents and don't eat their fry unless they want to breed again and can't drive the older fry from their territory. I must say that I'm surprised that your dwarf acaras are even trying to eat guppy fry. This is an atypical feeding behavior for this genus. I guess encouraging fry predation could lead to the fish to consider their own fry as food.
