Wild and recently caught

An Apisto fan from Venezuela caught this Apisto.

Could someone identify them?

They are still young, but I agree with Lolojil that they probably are A. sp. Breitbinden. In which area of Venezuela were they collected?

Just today I could get in touch with the venezuelan fan. He told me that the fish were caught in one of this rivers: Apure, Meta or Guaviare.

Fortunatelly, he sent me three new photos of the fish. They´re showing more colour and strips.

Are you sure they´re "red-cheek"?

I think that the morpho you mentioned are from Colombia.

We managed to bring these fishes from Venezuela to Argentina hidden in a thermal bottle and give them (2M 2F) to one of the three commercial breeders we have in our country (I mean fish breeders, regretably we don´t have cichlid breeders nor Apisto breeders).

Now, we have to wait and perhaps, in some months, we have the 17th species of the genus Apistogramma.
