My current water condition (50% RO and 50% from my main tank) are:
pH 7.6
KH 3
GH 12
Nitrite 0
Amonia 0
Nitrate 0
Temp 27 C = 80.6 F

Is it OK for breeding?

Do I have to lower the pH? What is the preffered method?

Thanks
Zahi

Lowing pH

Dear Zahi,

If you use a 66/34% instead of a 50/50% ratio of RO water to tap water, the 7.6 pH should adjust downward accordingly. But, with Apistogramma cacatoides, you need not worry about it. This species is found in soft but slightly alkaline water.

Good luck!
