Water change morning / evening?

My experience is that both of the options will work just fine..

If you try to start a new spawning by changing some water it will probably take at least some/several hours for them to "get ready" (courting..+ developing of the ovary-channel/tube on the female ..for the ability to deliver any eggs at all!!??)
(But sometimes you may have to wait 1-2 days before an accurate/positive spawning observation.. often by the revelation of a yellow female digging sand out of a spawning-cave..:))
If you are very good with your regular waterchanges, this actual water-change may not induce a new spawn every time.. probably due to no significant change in water quality/ drop of the kH/EC/TDS/temp... or/and reducing amounts of dissolved restproducts (nitrite+nitrates)???
..the water may already be "too clean"/"poor" so to speak.. (and Apistos+other fishes may/seem to "chemically record" this change as some kind of important spawning factor..)
But if you are keeping some "well-fed" "pH6-7:Apistos" and are exchanging some "old" water in the tank(and/or hoovering out "debris" from some of the sand), you will often get the spawning-effect you are looking for!!! It may also work merely by cleaning a sponge-filter or likewise, if you have any!!!

BTW.. There are many different fishes/species which prefers/choose to spawn at various specific moments.. (I guess the most natural and most common time for many schooling fishes, like tetras and rainbow-fishes, is the time just before+/after sunrise !!??)
