Hello all! I am an avid aquarist of about 20 years and I have just discovered Apistos and fell in love. I have several aquariums in my home but i Just finished adding my first pair of Apistos to a species tank I set up just for them. Once I saw these beautiful fish I had to have them. I am very new to them and there care so any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have them in a 29 gallon biocube. I keep the water between 82-86 and is planted with some grass and pennyworts. I also added some cichlid stones to give plenty of hiding spots and potentially breeding spots. Here are some pics of the tank and apistos that I am starting off with. Let me know what you guys think

Welcome to the forum. Your set up should be fine for your A. cacatuoides. The only change I'd suggest is lowering the temperature to around 79°F. Sex ratios of apistos are temperature dependent. At the temperature you now have most offspring will develop into males.
