Any live food that will fit in their mouth. Personally, I don't recommend live foods collected in waters with fish, with a high biologic content (e.g. tubifex/blackworms), or contain toxic metals (e.g. bloodworms). Me? I feed mostly newly hatched brine shrimp from eggs.
Home (indoors) bred live foods will certainly be safer than wild (outdoor bred) foods. You can control these problems indoors.
