Well I guess the thread title says it al. Someone I know purchased this wonderful gentleman below as A. agassizii "alanquer". Is it? Is it possible to tell which A-number?
Body shape, fins shape, and dark markings (the few that I can see) all point to it being A. cf. agassizii (Netz/Net). The Netz form/species occurs in rivers north of the Amazon channel from the Rio Negro almost to Ihla de Marajo. It would be very difficult to determine exactly which population of Netz it is without knowing where the original wild stock was collected. That being said, Alenquer is a well collected area, especially for Discus, so there is a good possibility that it is from this population.
